The first version of this car was sold on 1990 which has the highest price of all Mercedes-Benz versions and perhaps the most expensive sports car ever. That’s because it has a lot of features that you could never find in other sports car; it locks the door of the map pockets automatically, it has built-in memory for the rear view mirror and it has a remote control. Plus, if you are fat enough and cannot easily move out from the driver’s seat, don’t worry; the steering wheel will move itself away from your fat belly as you open the door.

It has three vents with rectangular slots in its two front fenders which is the distinguishing factor of the first version of the SL500. And if you are a mechanic and was able to pop the hood of an SL500, you can distinguish the very first version because it has 4-speed auto transmission but has ordinary hydraulics; it is a disadvantage in racing as you cannot really bring the car to really kick down even if it is already moving. In fact, it has been used in two popular movies; Another Stakeout starred by Richard Dreyfuss, Emilio Eschavez and Rosie O’donnell, and in the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective starred by comedian Jim Carrey. In both movies, the 1993 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 model was used.

Although, SL 500 cannot be a vintage as early as now, it is still one of the most expensive cars all over the world; of course, it is Mercedes-Benz!
